Head West in Springfield

I ordered the bb vegetarian Sub yesterday and it was the best sub sandwich I’ve ever had from them! I was blown away by how nicely crafted the sub was. The hot peppers were perfect with the ratio of meatballs and it was just great toasted, and superb! Thank you

Always a good sandwich. If you're going for the first time, I *highly* suggest getting ANYTHING on the sweet bread. Fast in-&-out service, even when there's a line. If you're in Springfield for lunch, you gotta get one of these subs. And remember: the sandwich ALWAYS tastes better when the guy who's making it is "sticking it to the man."

Good subs, but it took them 40 minutes to make a Meatball sub after I ordered ahead around lunchtime. Pretty ridiculous.

Really great place, staff is always friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone and they have the best sweet bread in Springfield

Man! The best sandwich ever! I also like the J.J. place -- but Head West is bona-fide de-luxe. If you haven't there treat yourself to the best in town. A+

The sandwiches are amazing, the service is lacking. Ever since opening the new building, it seems poorly managed. The last three times I've been in I order my food, wait in line to pay, and then the staff are so behind I get stuck in line with my food complete waiting to pay. This last time was 15 minutes - my food was done, in hand, but waiting to pay while they assisted online / call-ahead orders. Additionally, by the time I left, the line was nearly out the door and moving slowly. The food is good, but it isn't worth wasting half my lunch standing in line.

Website says they offer online ordering and curbside pickup, but when I called from their parking lot the response was that they do not offer any curbside pickup and I would have to come inside. Waited inside for 15 minutes before they finally found my order, which it turns out was not made correctly. This sucked.

Rueben, Ruben says it all for me. The servings are so generous you can’t always finish. Staff are fun! Clean and pleasant place.

This place has amazing subs that rivals Monty's. Psychedelic band posters/decorations on the walls give it a laid back feeling. Highly recommended.

Love most Headwest shops but the one on Jefferson is awful. Whoever just answered the phone was obviously understaffed or just rude. I was on hold with horrible heavy metal music for over 20min. I’ll go to Jimmy Johns.

The best Head West shop around. Their new, bigger store is very spacious. Hopefully their parking lot will be finished soon.The two employees I've encountered are incredible. Silly me wasn't sure if they put the right kind of ham, and they happily put my worries to rest.I live in Decatur, and I gladly bypass our own store and drive to the one on Jefferson.

New store is amazing. Guy working was extremely helpful and told me the background and history. I've been going to this location since I was a kid going to Springfield High up the road wheren you ordered through a hole in the wall :P It's certainly come a long way!!! Food's amazing as always!

This is an old favorite for me if I make it to Springfield. This time I was able to introduce my grandson. They are generous with toppings, fresh bread, and very friendly people. Go you will not be disappointed.

The soup and sandwiches were awesome!!!! So fresh, tasty and lots of yumminess!

got the Head West experience for sure. really relaxed, really friendly staff. the building was clean, and i got my food very quickly. was probably one of the best headwest subs and brownies I've ever had. 10/10 best subs in Springfield.

Love this place... staff is always friendly and accommodating. They also have options for vegetarian customers. The only issue was all table were not clean however... it was the peak of lunchtime. Any other time I've visited it was fine.

Only one worker on a dinner night. Good luck if you're doing a DD or GH side hustle. I understand it's hard to forecast volume but it would make more sense to staff more on a dinner night.

I really like Head West because they have mock-meats that can be substituted instead of traditional cold-cuts. For a vegetarian, this is a perfect spot to get a sub that is more than just veggies & cheese. You can get your sub toasted, which is always a plus. They use fresh ingredients, prepared daily. It's a really good, no frills, sandwich stop.

Love these subs. Fresh sweet bread. Plenty of options and toppings and they are huge. Daily soups are good as well plus Ben & Jerry's ice cream! Sub Nirvana!

Best sub chain in Illinois. Their bread is to die for. Fast service with a sandwich worth every cent you pay for. Also having a Jones soda is a great plus.

Head west is a local sub shop with a local flair and taste. Sandwiches are fairly priced and it is a local favorite of many. There are number of choices for bread and toppings, hot or cold. You can order online and pickup at the time you request. Not bad for lunch when you are in a hurry. There are a number of locations and I have not been to all of them but so far they all have been a good quality and good taste and that is a good thing!Don't forget to click like if the review helps

Great Food and people, busy,busy

Got the Reuben sandwich and could not have been more pleased. The bread especially was so fresh and flavorful! Also had the salted caramel pretzel cookie and it was delicious as well!

Good food 4 a good price and plenty of it

The last time I was there the staff was yelling at the customers to shut the door, I understand it was very hot that day. But you don’t YELL at you’re customers!!!! There are other sub shops that would love to take my money, without yelling at me!!! The one positive thing is they have awesome brownies!!!

I had the #2 and it was fantastic! It was super tasty and the sandwich creator was generous with the toppings. The rye bread adds a nice flavor and the roast beef was especially juicy. I also recommend the feta and spinach soup--piping hot and creamy. I highly recommend this place and the only downside is that Head West is not in my town.

Good food, but they NEVER get the order right(this and other locations)...The soup is not good.
